WARDROBE ASSISTANT
Set costumer and dresser.

From sitting in the wings of a ballet to being hooked up with a walkie to a full TV crew, the set costumers and dressers work tirelessly, ensuring talent is dressed in the correct ‘look’ for the scene.
From tracking the order of the days dances, songs or shoot schedule the full ensemble must be ready to throw on, sometimes in seconds. Racks and baggies include favorite sock requests, the occasional jock strap, necessary padding for certain characters and stunt men/women, jewelry placements along with the actual clothes, costume or wardrobe.
This experience started when I was needed as On-set tailor, poised within the crew sewing for emergency moments or last minute mends. The rest of the learning had to happen fast and on the spot including reading scripts, tracking continuity and wrangling actors to wear the right things at the right time!
Productions worked on in this role in Hawaii include the most recent ‘Rescue: HI Surf’ for Fox, 'Lilo and Stitch' for Disney, 'Aquaman' with Jason Momoa, and in London 'The Nevers' for HBO and NYC 'The American Ballet Theatre' at Brooklyn Academy of Music and Koch Theatre, Manhattan....just to name a few!
